About Me

Hello my name is Lana Villarreal. I am the owner of It's A Sweet Thing Bakery. My bakery is a licensed cottage bakery in Bakersfield, California. My home kitchen has been inspected and licensed by the Kern County Health Department.

I am a former elementary teacher turned homeschooling Mom turned entrepeneur.  I have been baking for over 25 years.  I have spent countless hours perfecting my recipes and I am here to share them with you.  Please be assured that I only use high quality ingredients in my baked goods.  I strongly feel that high quality ingredients truly does make a difference in taste.  

I make custom cakes, custom sugar cookies,  cupcakes, cake pops, brownies, sweet breads, drop cookies and cinnamon rolls.   

I am here for you to help make your event extra sweet and special. I listen to what you want for your special event and customize a cake, cookies, cupcakes or a full dessert table as unique as you that your guests are sure to enjoy and make you the hero of your event.
